Our Story - How I Started an Austin Sleepover Company

Happy New Year!
With the start of a new year, I thought it was the perfect time to re-introduce myself, my business, and share how I started an Austin sleepover company.
My name is Erica, and I’m the owner of South Austin Sleepover Tents. I always joke that this is the business that found me! It started when my daughter attended a tent sleepover party for one of her besties—and immediately decided she needed one for her next birthday.
When I started searching online, I realized there weren’t many Austin sleepover companies serving South Austin. Most were located in the northern suburbs, which meant paying extra delivery fees on top of the rental. Since I’ve always been crafty and creative, I thought, Why not do it myself? Little did I know, that decision would turn into the start of South Austin Sleepover Tents.
As I began creating and purchasing items for my daughter’s party, I shared the process on social media. Friends started reaching out, asking which Austin sleepover company I was using—and that’s when it clicked. I started offering to help with their parties, and before I knew it, my side project turned into a full-fledged business.
It’s been a wild ride, but I truly couldn’t imagine doing anything else.
I’m also a mom to two amazing kiddos (ages 10 and 13), and you can usually find me shuttling them from lessons to practices to games—I’m their unpaid Uber driver! Owning my own Austin sleepover company gives me the flexibility to set my schedule and be present for as many games and tournaments as possible, which means everything to me.
