Turn on calming music and guide the group through a few light stretches or yoga poses. It helps release restless energy and encourages relaxation — plus, it feels super fancy when done under twinkle lights in our cozy tent setups.
🎨 2. DIY Dream Journals
Provide little notebooks or folded paper and have the kids decorate their own dream journals. They can write or draw what they hope to dream about — unicorns, space adventures, maybe even flying pizza! It’s a creative, quiet way to help them settle down.
📖 3. Group Storytime — With a Twist
Have one child start a story with a sentence like, “Once upon a time, in a tent full of glitter…” and go around the group adding one sentence at a time. It often leads to hilarious results — and a few yawns by the end!

Not quite ready to sleep, but too tired to keep chatting? Play a kid-friendly podcast or audio story. It’s relaxing, engaging, and helps the mind slow down.
🧩 5. Would You Rather? (Sleepover Edition)
Keep a list of silly or themed “Would You Rather” questions handy. Think:
Would you rather have a pet dragon or a pet unicorn?
